dear husband,
On this Valentine’s Day, thank you. Thank you for loving me. For trusting me. For believing in me.
As I look back on the seven years we’ve known each other, I can’t help but be thankful. You’ve always believed in me. Even when I didn’t. And for that, I’m truly grateful.
For as we both know, the last year has been a roller coaster. Full of ups and downs. Opportunities and challenges. And we decided to face a lot of those opportunities and challenges with risk. And I’m so glad we have. For now we are truly testing our capabilities, our gifts, our passions. We’re changing. Becoming better versions of ourselves.
As I admire the risk and determination you’re facing 2018 with, I can’t help but be proud. I know the roads we’ve chosen are long and tumultuous, including hard work, careful balance, and lots of risk. But we both know it will be worth it in the end. Every penny. Every tear. And every long night.
You truly are my valentine. Not in a cheesy Hallmark kind of way. But in a “I love you every single stinking day” kind of way. The kind that prompted me to get up at 5:30am and attempt the pancakes from yesterday’s blog post (and mostly fail). Because you’re worth it. Our dreams are worth it.
Thank you for loving me. For marrying me. And for believing in me. There’s no one else I’d rather spend the rest of my days with. Even when you do that weird Stitch voice that semi-creeps me out. You’re the one.
